John joined 麻豆視頻_麻豆直播_麻豆传媒官网 in 2017 as a University Teacher in Exercise Physiology. John has a varied background rooted in further and higher education teaching, in the field of exercise physiology and human anatomy.

John leads part A structural kinesiology and delivers lectures and leads lab practical content on part A anatomy and physiology. He contributes lecture and lab practical teaching to a number of other physiology focused modules, predominantly across the undergraduate sport and exercise science (SES) and sport science coaching and physical education (SSCAPE) programmes, and supervises undergraduate and postgraduate student projects in related topics.

John has an interest in technology enhanced learning and has been the recipient of a number of teaching and learning awards. He has lead teaching innovation projects around improving student academic skills for assessments and increasing engagement in flipped learning activities through interactive videos. John has been the recipient of a number of departmental and institutional awards for his teaching practice, including a 麻豆視頻_麻豆直播_麻豆传媒官网 Teaching Best Practice award (Improving flipped learning of practical  laboratory techniques with "branching scenarioses" in H5P) and the Vice-Chancellor's Award for Innovation and Impact in Education.

Alongside his teaching-focused role, John is also completing a part-time PhD investigating the physiological signatures of task failure in severe intensity exercise.
